Workshops for year five students facing government scholarship examination

The programme prepares students in rural areas with lesser academic facilities for the Government year 5 scholarship examination. It is a free program conducted every weekend in selected areas by teachers from the National Institute of Education and other volunteer teachers. Over 2000 children around the country per week benefit; few have won the District Prize for the highest marks obtained in the National Scholarship Examination. Over 500 programs have been completed island wide and 50,000 students confidently face the year 5 scholarship programs annually through the programme.
